The BSX Taxi Market – Six Months On

A high point of the month was the official Launch of the BSX Taxi Market. The Taxi Market commenced on 28th March, 2006, and, with the help and support of the Brokers, has been running successfully for the past 6 months.
The Launch was held at the Events Warehouse, Southbank, and a perfect Spring evening saw people arriving around 5.30 pm for cocktails and pleasant conversation with their colleagues. The ladies looked stunning and the gentlemen complimented them perfectly. Invited guests were from the foremost Melbourne Taxi Brokerages, the Department of Infrastructure, and the Victorian Taxi Association, and the Program was jointly hosted by the Bendigo Stock Exchange and Victorian Taxi Directorate.
Each of the Brokers was presented with their BSX Broker Certificates by Ian Mansbridge, Chairman, and Richard Symon, Chief Executive Officer of Bendigo Stock Exchange. This was followed by Achievement Awards presented to 6 of the BSX Taxi Brokers by the distinguished keynote speaker, Carlo Carli, MP. Carlo has been involved with the Taxi Industry since 1999, from Chairman of the National Competition Policy Working Party to reviews of wheelchair accessible transport and peak service taxis. Guests included members of some of the larger firms such as Silver Top Taxis and Black Cabs Combined to the smaller such as Alex Taxis & Broker, and ECM Taxi Brokers.
The evening finished with Carlo cutting the cake to complete the Launch and guests were provided with a small cake in a presentation box to take with them.
A wonderful evening was had by all and the surprise Awards were proudly received. Bendigo Stock Exchange and the Victorian Taxi Directorate look forward to the next BSX Taxi Broker function and let’s hope it can top the first.
